    Switch ARK to the “preaquatica” beta

    Our servers run the version before the Aquatica update. In Steam: right-click ARK → Properties → Betas → choose “preaquatica”, then let Steam update.

    Add the server

    Steam → View → Game Servers → Favorites → “+” and paste the address.

    Open ARK and join

    Join ARK → set the session filter to Favorites. Server not there? Set the filter to Unofficial and search “BlackFlames”.

    Mods download by themselves

    The first join takes a few minutes while the mods install.

    Say hi

    New survivors get a welcome in chat. Build a bed early!

Switch ARK to the “preaquatica” version

Our servers run ARK as it was before the Aquatica update, so every mod keeps working. Steam calls that version the “preaquatica” beta - your game needs to be on it too.

    Open your Steam Library and find ARK: Survival Evolved (or press the button below).

    Right-click ARK → Properties… (or the gear icon on the game page → Properties).

    Open the Betas tab. Under “Beta participation” choose preaquatica.

    Close the window. Steam downloads the matching version - wait until it says Play.

  5. 5

    Start ARK and join. Your saves, tames and mods stay as they are.

Want the normal version back later? Same place, choose “None” under Beta participation.

Still says “version mismatch”? Restart Steam once so it picks up the change, then check the Betas tab shows preaquatica.
